This guide is for users on the TCS (Tarana Cloud Services) portal with “OP Admin” (Operator administrator) role or above.
The processes listed below outline how to upgrade software partitions of BN (Base Node) and RN (Residential Nodes) units that are already connected to TCS.
Upgrade process for BN's - Initial Partition
- Select the DEVICES tab and set the toggle on the top left hand of the page to BN's to refine the list to BN's only
- Note: The list can be further refined using the network hierarchy on top of the interface.
- Select the BN(s) to be upgraded and select the Upgrade option in the Select Device Operation dropdown on the right side of the screen.
- After selecting the Upgrade option select the desired SW version from the list of 'Available Software Packages' making sure that Activate software after upgrade is checked and hit Proceed.
- Note: Upgrading the software on system with Activate software after upgrade will reboot the system and will cause brief service disruptions.
- A status window will popup indicating the operation initiated - select the View button to see the progress of the upgrade.
- When the upgrade is complete the Device Message will show Upgrade Success
Upgrade Process for Other Partitions on BN's
Once the initial partition is upgraded, we can continue to upgrade the non-active partition. Repeat the process above ensuring Activate software after upgrade is Un-checked
Upgrade Process for RN's - Initial Partition
- Select the DEVICES tab and set the toggle on the top left hand of the page to RN's to refine the list to RN's only
- Note: The list can be further refined using the network hierarchy on top of the interface.
- Select the BN(s) to be upgraded and select the Upgrade option in the Select Device Operation dropdown on the right side of the screen.
- After selecting the Upgrade option select the desired SW version from the list of 'Available Software Packages' making sure that Activate software after upgrade is checked and hit Proceed.
- Note: Upgrading the software on system with Activate software after upgrade will reboot the system and will cause brief service disruptions.
- A status window will popup indicating the operation initiated - select the View button to see the progress of the upgrade.
- When the upgrade is complete the Device Message will show Upgrade Success
- Once upgrades are completed, the RN's will reconnect to their BN and the updated Software Version will be displayed in the Devices list.

Once the initial partition is upgraded, we can continue to upgrade the non-active partition. Repeat the process above ensuring Activate software after upgrade is Un-checked
