Metrics and Key Performance Indicators in TCS

Tarana devices collect and track information from the network and the environment and displays them in the Device List table as columns. The complete set of metrics is divided into five categories:

  • Link Metrics: Information regarding the state of the RF link between a base node and a remote node. Some link metrics are objective, such as the configured primary base node for a remote node, and some are subjective to the device on which the measurement occurs, such as signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). In cases where the measurements are subjective to the device, the metric value is displayed as measure from the device.

  • System Metrics: Information regarding the state and configuration of the device. System metrics include configuration details such as the management IP address and hostname, state information such as the system uptime and running software version, and topology information such as the region, market, site, cell, and sector.

  • Hardware Metrics: Information regarding the state of the hardware. Hardware metrics include identifying values such as part number and serial number, and environmental information such as operating temperature and supply voltage.

  • Planning Metrics: Information used in planning deployments and for operational reference. Planning metrics include the planning ID, configured carrier frequency, available bandwidth, management VLAN, and network profile.

  • Location Metrics: Information regarding the location and orientation of the device. Location metrics describe positional information such as where the device is located geographically, how high it is mounted, and the direction it is pointing.

By default, the Device List table displays the following columns:

Hardware Metrics and KPIs

The hardware metrics include information regarding the state of the hardware. Hardware metrics contain identifying values such as part number and serial number, and environmental information such as operating temperature and supply voltage.

System Metrics and KPIs

System metrics include Information regarding the state and configuration of the device. They include configuration details such as the management IP address and hostname, state information such as the system uptime and running software version, and topology information such as the region, market, site, cell, and sector.

Location Metrics and KPIs

The location metrics include information regarding the geographical position and orientation of a device. Location metrics describe positional information such as where the device is located geographically, how high it is mounted, and the direction it is pointing.

Planning Metrics and KPIs

The planning metrics include information used in planning deployments and for operational reference. They include the planning ID, configured carrier frequency, available bandwidth, management VLAN, and network profile.

Link Metrics and KPIs

The link metrics include information regarding the state of the RF link between a base node and a remote node. Link metric provide information regarding the state of the RF link between the base node and the remote node. Some link metrics are objective, such as the configured primary base node for a remote node, and some are subjective to the device on which the measurement occurs, such as signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). In cases where the measurements are subjective to the device, the metric value is displayed as measure from the device.
